Dear Spirit: Books, Gifts, Life and Teton Spirit magazine and website,
You probably have already seen or heard about my recent announcement regarding my store, Spirit in Wilson. On September 1, I told my Spirit email subscribers that I want to spend more time with my family and would love for someone to take over ownership.
Spirit will continue to be open through the month of October with everything on sale. It will close for the month of November and then reopen December through January. My lease expires January 31 (although if there is interest in new ownership–I have already discussed the same rental rate for the future).
Because of this transition with the store—which is currently a separate business from Teton Spirit, I will be taking a break in publishing the upcoming winter issue. Teton Spirit’s website, calendar, blog and online presence will continue to be updated regularly. Our online traffic has more than doubled since last summer!
It is my intention to produce an amazing magazine issue for next summer (in accordance with the Eclipse of August 2017). During the downtime this fall and winter, I am eager to get feedback on Teton Spirit–find out what people like and what improvements can be made.
I am also interested in partnering or collaborating with others who are interested in promoting a voice and presence for our holistic wellness community and establishing Jackson Hole as a healthy inspired destination. I really feel as though what I have created in Teton Spirit Connection has been a great start, but there is so much more that could be happening with more leadership.
If you or anyone you know is interested in getting involved please contact me. It’s a pretty extraordinary situation in that I am interested in sharing what I have created thus far with people who are seriously interested in helping to take Teton Spirit to the next level.
Teton Spirit Connection is an exciting and unique model. Unlike Mind, Body, Green or Elephant Journal it is the only inspirational wellness website and magazine of its kind that is linked to an inspiring location. Many locals and visitors have talked to me about getting investors and making the magazine a franchise and also hosting events—both things I’d love to see happen but it’s too much for this 47 year-old mother of three to do on her own. Besides, something with this potential feels like it needs more than one person at the helm.
Please pass this message along to any energetic and inspired entrepreneurial, journalism, publishing and/or social media marketing friends you may know. This is an exciting opportunity!
Thank you so much for your continued support. It has been extraordinary to feel all the love for my store, magazine and website from all of you. Please help envision a sustainable way to continue providing a space for and promoting living an inspired healthy holistic life connected to one’s heart and spirit.
With tremendous love and gratitude, Sam
